ITO om Washi
ITO Washi impresses with its exceptionally silky softness and thus continues the noble tradition of Japanese paper yarns. This remarkable yarn is characterized by an airy and beautifully structured stitch pattern that also perfectly accentuates fine lace patterns.
The twisted viscose thread gives ITO Washi the necessary stability and tear resistance, making it ideal for the production of clothing and accessories. Despite its delicate nature, the yarn is washable by hand.
Recommended needle size:
Single-stranded: 2,00 – 3,00 mm
Double-stranded: 3,00 – 4,00 mm
Tips: Paper yarns have a lasting tradition in Japan. They are often compared to silk in their noble character and have similar properties to silk: Cooling in summer and warming in winter. Washi can be knit single stranded for lace and lightweight summer scarfs. For shirts and jackets we recommend to knit Washi double stranded or in combination with Niji or Asa.
