Umbria Summer Top av Cookie the Knitter Garnpakke

The Umbria Summer Top is a cardigan style top that is worked top down. First, the neck band is worked in rib. Then the yoke is worked back and forth in pattern with raglan increases while the button bands are worked simultaneously. When the yoke is done, the sleeves are divided from the body and the body is worked with a few decreases. Then the sleeves are worked in the round and bound off with the same technique that is used for the body.

The Umbria Summer Top requires the following techniques: tubular cast on, knit and purl stitches, increases (M1L, M1R), decreases (k2tog, p2tog, ssk, ssp), German short rows, and Hiya Hiya Grandma’s Bind Off.

For example, the model in the photos has a bust of 90cm / 35½”, and wears a size XS (brown) with 0cm / 0” of ease and a size S (white) with 7cm / 2¾” of ease.
